About Guanajuato

In 2010 we will send a team to the region of Guanajuato, Mexico. The team will go to Celaya and connect with Alan & Phyllis Brown and the church they are helping to plant there.

Guanajuato is a state in the central highlands of Mexico. It’s a popular destination – the beautiful capital city of Guanajuato is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Plus its elevation gives it a mild climate in the summer – high temperatures are around 80 and lows are in the 50s.

Celaya is a growing city of 400,000. It is known as an agricultural and industrial center, and a tourist destination. The city is also famous for its "Cajeta" (caramel candy), which comes in a variety of flavors.

Though having a long history of Christianity, true evangelical believers are currently estimated to be only around 1% of the population, so the spiritual needs are tremendous.

About the Celaya Team (Family Friendly)

The Browns are helping to plant a church and developing national leaders who are planting a daughter church. We will help the “mother” church put on a Vacation Bible School for children, and do some much needed construction. We will also have the opportunity to help out the daughter church.

This team is limited to 20 people.

Children and teens are welcome and will have the chance to participate.

The team will spend one day visiting the city of Guanajuato.
