ABOUT MINISTRY TO THE DEAF
In almost every country, the Deaf are in desperate need of the Gospel. Not only do they face physical and emotional challenges, they are usually isolated from society and the church and even their families.
MMBC's Deaf Ministry has been blessed by individuals with a passion to serve and reach out to the deaf with the love and Good News of Jesus Christ. As such, this mission team is an extension of that ministry.
The team will be serving for a week at the Caribbean Christian Centre for the Deaf.
ABOUT CARIBBEAN CHRISTIAN CENTRE FOR THE DEAF
For many people in the country of Jamaica, 1958 served as the beginning of a new era of hope and promise. It was during this year that CCCD opened and began instilling in those who could not hear the greatest message that any could ever hope to hear: "Jesus loves you!"
The Knockpatrick campus, located in the south central portion of the island, currently serves over 135 deaf students.
ABOUT THE MISSION
This will not be a vacation but rather a mission in which our purpose is to work and serve. Team members will have the chance to put on a VBS for the students. There will also be a construction project, the exact nature of which has yet to be determined. There is a definite need for anyone with any of the following skills: Masonry, Carpentry, Welding, Electrical, Plumbing, Cabinetry, Contract Supervision.
We will stay in dormitory-style accommodations on the CCCD campus, as well as take our meals there.
