There are many opportunities for you to use your gifts, skills, and talents to make a difference at McKinney Bible Church, in our local community, and around the world.

Prayer Ministry

- Prayer Room - Men and women can sign up for one-hour sessions in the Prayer Room during normal office hours to pray for our missionaries, the MMBC ministries and prayer requests that are submitted.
- Prayer Chain - The Prayer Chain focuses on more immediate prayer needs as they arise.
- Church-Wide Prayer - This time of worship is led by various leaders of the church and meets the second Tuesday of each month, in the Worship Center, at 7:00 p.m.
Children’s Ministry (Newborn-5th grade)

- Teachers - Adult volunteers to teach or assist in classrooms, birth-5th grade, on Sunday mornings at 9:00 or 10:30. All you need is a growing relationship with Christ and a love for kids! This can be a weekly commitment for either the 9:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. hour, or substitute as needed on various Sundays.
- Greeters – Assist parents in checking in their children and be a first impression for visitors. If you have a love for Christ and people this could be a great fit for you. This would involve committing on Sunday mornings from only 8:30 a.m.–10:10 a.m. or 10:10 a.m.–11:20 a.m. Positions are also available for two Sundays per month.
- Shepherds – Adult volunteers who partner with teachers in the classroom assisting children with special needs. This is a great position for those who been given a gift of patience and a love for children. This is a Sunday morning position for 9:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. Rotating positions are also available.
- Organizers – Volunteers needed to organize, arrange and restock the Children’s Ministry resource room. Flexible time commitment required – preferably one hour each week.
- Trunk or Treat - Willing to use car or truck to provide one game or simple activity for community children to play and receive candy on the afternoon and early evening of Saturday, October 31.
Worship/ Arts Ministry

- Vocalists – Sopranos, altos and tenors who desire to sing on the praise team and/or special music.
- Instrumentalists – Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboards, piano, bass, drums, percussionist, and solo instruments – sax, flute, violin, etc.
- Sound Technicians – We need help in our sound ministry on Sunday mornings and special events. People with high skill or no skill are welcome. We need help with recording on Sundays, set up and tear down, and assisting the Sound Director each week.
- Video and Camera – For anyone interested in the tech side of our worship services and special events, everything from running a camera, switcher, lighting and lyrics. We also need skilled people for shooting and editing video.
- Choir Members – If you sing and have a heart for worshiping God, we want to talk to you.
- Creative Team – This is for the highly creative who can grab hold of what is being preached on a Sunday and help put creative wheels to it.
Hospitality Ministry

- Greeters – Help make our guests and regular attenders feel welcomed on Sundays. This is a great ministry for those who are friendly with outgoing personalities (those who have never met a stranger!). You could greet before our 9:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. services.
- Coffee Servers - Assist people with their beverage (this isn’t about the coffee, it’s about the people!). This is a great position for someone who enjoys serving others… this position is weekly on alternating months for either service.
- Parking Lot Assistants - Greet people as they leave their cars in our lots. Friendly and positive people are a great fit (it also helps if you’ve always wanted to wear a yellow vest!). This ministry needs people to help weekly for either service.
Local/Global Missions

- Local Missions Committee - Join our Local Missions Committee to serve as a liaison and help prayerfully allocate resources to our eight local mission partners. This team also helps coordinate special events such as Great Day of Hope, Back to School Extravaganza, the annual food drive, Thanksgiving Hen Drive, Christmas for Kids, etc. The committee meets once every first Tuesday of the month.
- Global Missions Committee - Our Global Missions Committee hears from various missionaries every month, determines allocation of resources, helps provide direction for short term missions and provides care to our global missions partners. They also help plan and give oversight to our Global Mission Sundays. This committee meets once per month, every fourth Tuesday.
- Short-Term Missions Committee - This committee prayerfully determines which short-term mission opportunities to pursue each year. They also provide oversight to our STM processes. This committee meets every other month, on Sundays, after the second Service.
Women’s Ministry

- Meal Ministry – This ministry is for women who are willing to periodically cook and take a meal for a family in need.
- Funeral Ministry – Periodically bring a dish to contribute to a large meal for a family who has experienced a death in the family.
- Greeters – Once a month open doors and greet women who attend our Tuesday morning Bible Study; thus, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Hostesses – Periodically help serve and prepare food for morning breaks or luncheons on Tuesday mornings.
- Special Events – Women to periodically help decorate, organize, sell tickets, etc. for special events.
- Small Group Leaders – Women gifted in the area of facilitating small groups; very relational; connecting women to each other and the Word.
- ConnectHERS – Help take attendance and contact women who are absent from various Bible Studies.
- Bible Study Teachers – Those with the gift of teaching provide a variety of Bible Studies for women.
- Special Assistance – This is a great place for women with a heart for those in need! This would involve being willing to provide transportation to women who cannot otherwise get to Bible study and special events.
- Local Missions – Help minister to our local mission partners through special periodic projects.
Men’s Ministry

- Men’s Breakfast Series - Men are needed to help prepare coffee and food, coordinate sign ups and workbook sales, greet men before the study, assist with multi-media, and clean up after meetings.

- Discipleship/D-group Leaders – Facilitate and lead discussions with students.
- Wednesday Night Gathering Leaders - Facilitate and lead discussions with students.
- Sunday Morning Gathering Leaders - Facilitate and lead discussions with students.
- D-Group House Facilitator – Lead discussions and studies of the Word in your home.
- D-Group Snack Coordinator – Help provide snacks for students during D-group meetings.
- Special Events Leader – Help coordinate and lead special events.
- Special Events Driver – Provide transportation for students to and from special events.
- Other – If you have a heart for high school students, we can work together to find the perfect place for you to make a difference.
Girls and Family Ministry

- Prayer Warriors – We need people to pray! It sounds easy, but we believe that our ministry is not possible without God’s help. Warriors are given a list of students to continually pray for and write notes of encouragement to.
- “Face to Face” Girls Ministry – Women are needed to help in a variety of ways. This ranges from facilitating discussions on meeting nights, helping teach, or being a “mom” to one of the girls at a Mother/Daughter night.
- “Face to Face” Teachers – Women are needed to help teach practical things to middle and high school girls. This could be cooking basics, nutrition, how to change a tire, CPR, etc. Let us know what area you are skilled in.
College Students

- Small Group Bible Study Leaders – Facilitate and lead discussions with students.
- Disciplers –Meet with one student for one-on-one discipleship.
- Prayer –Pray for and with students.
- Sound and Media – Assist with audio/visual needs.
- Hosts – Offer your home for special events.
- Organizers – Plan, coordinate and decorate for college ministry events
- Encouragers – Encourage students away at college with notes and finals goody bags
- Other – You are not limited to this list, so if you have a desire to serve college students in any other way please contact Curt.
Other ideas on how to make a difference at McKinney.
- Write letters of encouragement to class leaders, teachers, staff, pastors, custodial staff, etc.
- Offer to loan your home/pool to student ministries for an afternoon.
- Make it a personal goal to meet one person you don’t know every Sunday.
- Remember our God is a CREATIVE God. The opportunities on this list are NOT all-inclusive. You may be led, have gifts and talents, or have ideas not listed on this sheet. If you fall under this category, please don’t be discouraged! Sometimes the easiest way for you to make a difference is for you to find a need and choose to meet it. You don’t have to check in with headquarters to begin making a difference. Jump in and get going! Of course, if we can help in any way, don’t hesitate to contact anyone in the church office. We would love to help you make a difference however we can.

We have eight local mission partners reaching out to various areas and demographics of the Fort Worth area. They always have a variety of needs and opportunities!
